Rugbyclub Octopus
was founded in 1974 and over the years become well known for its annual
15 a-side pre-season international tournament in August. This has turned
out to be the biggest in its sort with guaranteed top teams from Belgium,
Germany, England and The Netherlands. We are situated in a small town called
Uden in the South of Holland in the middle of the triangle Eindhoven, Den
Bosch and Nijmegen close the Belgian and German border.
Over the years we have made many close friends who
we still visit every now and then when touring around Europe. RUFC
Folkestone is a good example of this long lasting friendship. They
compete nearly every year in our tournament and arrive with a coach full
of players and supporters of all ages and stay for the weekend. We
aim to compete in at least three tournaments outside the season such as The Dukes Open 10's, the Flanders Open 10's in Dendermonde
Belgium and of course the Ameland Beach Rugby Tournament.
We run one Senior side which compete in the 3rd div. South, we have a beginning Ladies team and a Veteran side which only play occasionally. We have Youth teams in every age class and a very strong commitment all round from trainers, partens and sponsors. We welcome all
touring teams mens, womens and youth teams.
